Advancing Beyond the Spectrum provides ABA therapy at clinics in Bel Air and Eldersburg, Maryland, and in family homes across nine counties. With its Eldersburg center open, the practice wanted Carroll County families to find it as readily as Bel Air families already do. DAP began in August 2026 with a full month of measurement, so every gain from here has a clear starting line. Four weeks in, the site tracks family inquiries by form and by phone, tells search engines it is a healthcare provider, and gives AI assistants a file to read.
Advancing Beyond the Spectrum has delivered applied behavior analysis therapy for children with autism since 2015. The practice runs clinics in Bel Air and Eldersburg and provides in-home therapy across nine Maryland counties. Its Baltimore address is corporate and mailing only, not a walk-in clinic. Two board certified behavior analysts founded the practice and still lead its clinical team, which works with children from eighteen months to nineteen years old. Most families arrive through insurance-funded care, which is why the funding page carries more content than any other page on the site.
The new Eldersburg clinic set the goal: reach Carroll County families searching for ABA therapy. DAP chose to measure first. In four weeks the team produced six baseline reports covering the technical build, analytics, keywords, schema, backlinks and presence inside AI assistants. Those reports ranked the fixes, and the team then applied the top priorities to the pages already live. Month one of a twelve-month roadmap closed with a changed site and a documented starting point. DAP re-measures in February 2027.
Seven in ten Google clicks came from families searching the practice by name, a sign of a strong local reputation. The next opportunity sat with parents searching for ABA therapy in general, including Carroll County families looking for their first provider after a diagnosis.
Neither the Bel Air clinic nor the newer Eldersburg center had a page of its own, and nor did the in-home service area covering nine Maryland counties. Every local search landed on the same generic services page instead. The homepage carried roughly 145 words and still held an average position of 4.1 for aba therapy bel air md. That clinic presence already carried weight. A competing provider’s dedicated Bel Air page ran about 850 words and ranked below it.
Google Analytics had recorded no sessions, no page views and no events since the property was created. The Google Tag Manager container attached to the site was an empty shell, holding no tags, triggers or variables. Neither a contact form submission nor a phone call produced any record anywhere. Calls rang through to personal mobile numbers with no call tracking attached, a gap the client confirmed. Any conversion report drawn from that account would have reported a false zero rather than a real number.
A DAP analyst captured thirteen answers across four AI engines to questions a Maryland parent might ask. Two named the practice, and one listed it first for Bel Air with its correct phone number. Carroll County questions pointed families to other providers, which made Eldersburg the clear next target.
An account with no recorded history has no baseline, and every later claim rests on one. DAP spent month one building that baseline rather than spending it on content.
The account had a Google Analytics property, a Tag Manager container and a new HubSpot login. None of the three was sending or receiving anything, and the audit found it in week three.
Families increasingly ask an assistant instead of scrolling a results page, and an assistant returns three to five provider names rather than ten links. DAP measured where the practice sat inside that answer before trying to change it.
The practice had about as many referring domains as a competitor with an authority score many times higher. That looked like an asset until DAP read the links one at a time.
No rebuild was in scope, so the technical work had to land on the pages the site already had. It did, and every item below is checkable on the live site.
The site had no blog and no location pages at all. DAP drew the whole hierarchy first, so every page built later would have somewhere to sit.
DAP delivered six reports between August 19 and August 28, 2026, covering the technical build, the analytics, the keywords, the schema, the backlink profile and AI visibility. The team crawled all eleven live pages end to end and recorded every check before making a single change. The follow-up audit can therefore repeat those checks and show exactly what moved.
Google Analytics had recorded zero sessions, and the Tag Manager container held zero tags from the day it was created. DAP built the container out, published it, and verified it live in early September 2026. Both a contact form inquiry and a phone inquiry are configured as key events, which is what Google Analytics calls a completed goal. Internal and bot traffic is filtered, so the first real month of data counts real visitors.
In August the homepage carried two generic items, and nothing on the site identified the practice as an organization, a local business or a healthcare provider. It now publishes eight machine-readable facts naming the practice as a medical business. A separate entry covers each clinic, both founders appear by name, and Maryland is listed as the area served. A search engine now reads a healthcare provider with two clinics where it previously read a plain web page.
Four pages shared one identical 141-character description, which left Google no distinct summary to show for any of them. Each carries its own now. The homepage title no longer repeats the practice name, and the page carries a meta description and a main heading for the first time. Three broken headings read correctly now, including one that had rendered as a truncated fragment.
Two contact pages were live and both sat in the main navigation. One carried 53 words and a garbled heading, the other 264 words and a complete description. The weaker page now redirects to the stronger one on the live site. An llms.txt file also went up where a request had returned a 404 error. It lists the seven core pages and all three confirmed addresses for AI assistants to read.
A DAP analyst captured thirteen answers live across four AI engines on August 20, 2026, and the engines named the practice in two of them. One was a genuine first-place mention in Bel Air, while all three Carroll County questions named someone else. DAP asks the same twelve questions again at the February 2027 review, against a named target of six answers out of thirteen.
